Although one goal is the ability to use it as a drop-in replacement for JMF, it is being developed only by examining the public JMF javadocs, and blackbox testing of the JMF reference implementation.
The JMF reference source code may not be consulted, nor may the JMF specification. Both of these require license agreements to download, and jeaopordize the independence and legality of this project. It is not a goal of this project to produce an implementation which is subject to any compatibility tests by Sun.
For more details about the requirements to contribute to this project, see the FAQ for the GNU classpath project. FMJ uses the same requirements, with the exception that we are not using the GPL, but are merely GPL-compatible.
Contributors are always welcome! If you are interested, do not hesitate to join our team or just send your requests to kenlars99 -(at)- sourceforge.net.
